Mutassim
My name is Mutassim Abdullah Mohamed Adam. I am from Sudan.
I left my home because of conflict and insecurity, hoping to find safety and a chance to rebuild my life.
Coming to Indonesia meant starting again in a place far from home. Like many refugees, I have had to navigate uncertainty and limited opportunities while trying to find a sense of purpose and belonging.
There have been difficult moments, but I have also discovered new opportunities to learn, grow and contribute.
Finding a new sense of possibility
My journey with Same Skies has been an important part of that experience.
Through its programmes and support, I have had opportunities to develop new skills, build my confidence and connect with other people in my community.
For me, these opportunities have meant more than simply learning something new. They have helped me see possibilities beyond my circumstances as a refugee and reminded me that I still have something to contribute.
Today, I am continuing to learn and grow in Indonesia. I want to keep developing my skills, supporting my community and building a future where I can contribute in meaningful ways.
My journey is still unfolding.
But I have learned that even when you have had to leave your home and start again, there can still be opportunities to find purpose, build connections and create something positive for yourself and the people around you.
